Born and raised in Minnesota, Matt Dahl has since had the opportunity to travel extensively.  "I've backpacked through Italy, Paris, and Amsterdam, and have been to 40 states as well as several places in Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean...but Minnesota will always be home."

Dahl currently lives in St. Paul, where he teaches writing, verbal communications, and a class called Balanced Living, where students learn practices such as meditation, yoga, and mindfulness.  This keeps him busy, but he still finds time for his favorites.  He enjoys going to the theater, listening to vintage Santana, walking around Minnesota's beautiful lakes, strolling through the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and riding in convertibles. 

His new book, Butterfly Teardrops, has been in progress for seven years.  "Back then I published under the pen name Matias Tommerdal.  If you look hard enough, you can still find some of those early publications."  (see list of publshed work).
